And to think it all started with the vision of just man: Our founder, Luis Contreras Peña, whose great drive resulted in a very successful project. Something that had never been done before in our country. With more than 40 years of experience in the marine business, Luis Contreras Peña is a Distinguished Naval Architect and Marine Engineer. He has worked in various shipyards abroad, in the United States and other countries, and has more than 15 years experience in similar facilities here in the Dominican Republic. He has designed and built barges and tugs, and undertaken conversions involving many types of vessels. He is the President of our shipyard.
